Would it be too smug to say I told you so? :p

It would be honest to say that I needed this reminder too.

You're awesome.

The Qur'an is even Awesomer!

What I'm learning is that some people forget, others get distracted and there is yet a class of people who intentionally choose to not follow this philosophy. That one came as a surprise to me.

re: no-brainers that people yet do not remember: i think as muslims, we are blessed to know certain simple truths, that many people somehow do not accept as true, or simple. and even among ourselves, we forget and need to remind ourselves. Ramadan is a good time for that. So there's nothing wrong in reminding yourself to remember those key lessons.. We are not always good with them, but we do try, & that is essential.

Interesting stuff. Thanks for sharing. It'll be useful to use these when teaching tajweed rules to kids.

Firstly, you will never know who is going to quit on you - the future lies with Allah (SWT) alone.
So therefore, the most you can do at any given moment is to not let someone quit on you. And make dua for the future.

Secondly, the statement touches upon the concept of hope in Islam. It's a beautiful blessing to have, hope and Islam encourages us constantly to not lose it, to always have faith in Allah (SWT) - from where/whom (?) all hope is derived.

Thirdly, Muslims are a community and iman wears thin for anybody - I recall a hadith that faith is like piece of cloth, it wears out constantly so take time to refresh/strengthen it (I hope this is a sahih hadith - Allah (SWT) knows best). So when you lose hope or are weak from this world and its challenges, lean on your brothers/sisters. We are one body and if one part is tired, it is only natural for us to lean on another.

Anything good here is from Allah (SWT) and any mistake is from me and I pray that Allah (SWT) forgives me and puts the clear, positive desired message in your heart.

Questions:
is your hope that your friend not quit you so quickly, or not quit at all?
and does it matter how quickly they do it if they still quit you, in the end?

"This Cat Feels Awfully Cool" - this phrase is to help us emulate the dammah, kasrah, fat'tah.

Cat = Fat'tah
Feels = Kasrah
Cool = Dammah
Awfully = the heavy letters.

We were told to observe the way we said each word in normal (north american accent) language and to emulate similar sounds for fat'tah, kasrah & dammah.

Please note that this is only for beginners - advanced students will clearly not need such aids and be reading/understanding directly from arabic. Also note that the pronunciation works for American English accents largely.

And Allah (SWT) knows best.
