Muslim guy walks around the store with a gun

November 15th, 2006 by

Yes you heard it. It’s shocking to me as it is to you. It’s still something that I’m surprised that I did. It’s something which had to be done, and I have no regrets at doing it. I guess the stress of everything going on finally got to me.
I went and did the Wedding Registry all by myself. In doing so, they gave me the scanner gun to do it. Dangerous I know. Giving a guy the sole power to do it. It’s something that we’ve put off for awhile…but had to be done. Both she and I have been too busy to go and do it, but Alas I went and did it.

I’m walking around Bed Bath and Beyond and get all kinds of weird looks. The lady who is in charge of this says that I’m the only guy who she’s ever seen come and do this on his own. She slips me a coupon for 10% off future purchases for being this brave. Also she stops in to help me make sure it’s all their. (It wasn’t, I didn’t order enough towels.)

Target isn’t as bad. So many people their that I just blindly fit into the crowd.

Bed Bath and Beyond is definetly more friendly.

Check it out at both sites, and let me know how I did. You’ll see some definite “guy” stuff on their.

My last name is Osman, and the wedding is in Illinois. It’s the only one listed.

i’m impressed! you did pretty well at BB&B. Even looks like you got a coordinated color thing going on in the bathroom.. and all(most) by yourself! Impressive. I love the fact that you also registered for a pizza set, a bathrobe for her (nice move), and a punching bag. Would a girl really have thought of registering for a punching bag?? probably not.

The bathroom matches the bedroom set that I’m buying from Macy’s this weekend. They have this 28 pc “Room in a Bag” set. It’s got the bed in a bag, along with drapes, and stuff. I figure this way I get it all for one price and it all matches.

I’m thinking of also adding in a pink boxing glove for her. Notice the powertools at Target, and the Flexible screwdriver.

seriously, if your soon-to-be-wife is the kind of girl who likes pink boxing gloves and powertools and silk bathrobes, she sounds really cool. =) as i’m sure she is.

    She is kewl.

But I think you misunderstand. The silk bathrobes, powertools, and pink boxing gloves are for me. I’m going to be using the wearing the bathrobes, and the boxing gloves around the house, while I use the powertools and flexible screwdriver to fix items around the house.

  5. Anjum Says:

ohhh, my mistake. nothing like the feel of silk combined with the power of a drill in your hand?

  6. Waleed Says:

Aaah…the power of pink drills :)

Anjum, Shahid is actually a DIY kinda guy. It’s a rare genetic defect in his Indian-ness. It is also one of the reasons he can’t leave the country unless other countries have DIY stores within a 22.1 mile radius of him.
