Don't hate on Berkeley! Just b/c it's Berkeley doesn't mean that its students are more prone to doing drugs than the next college students. Yeah my chem labs sucked majorly. I wish I could blame that on them being Berkeley, but I don't think I'd get them going to any other school either. Always had problem #1-2, plus me breaking the equipment. haha. I love the place, both the city and the UC. Still, the guy was insane to try his own drugs, and so were his fellow "research collaborators," it seems. I wonder what their idea of "well" and "really well" was. p.s. All my general chem and o-chem labs basically consisted of the #s 1-3 you mentioned. I guess I wasn't as much a chem nerd as some people. ;) Although I did absolutely love doing all those acid/base titration calculations. It was the hands-on labs that killed me.
