Call me Ishmael
June 9th, 2004 byWhen Nomad came to being two years ago, my first entry discussed names. Briefly. That this blog would have none, except a thousand, a million that I would call it by. It still doesn’t. It’s a blog extraordinare, it’s mine after all and to me it is as such. It’s a million journeys in a single pair of shoes and it’s true, I’ve walked them all and far far more. It’s tiny little taglines that I felt like calling it, petnames if you want and it responded well to them all. But never just a single name, no.
But for ‘blog’.

ishmael as in the wheel of time one?
June 10th, 2004 at 10:35 pm
No. Definitely not Ishmael of wheel of time. More like Ishmael from Moby Dick.
(plus, Robert Jordan really dragged down the entire series after book 6 or 7, I don’t know, I can’t remember, it was just too painful after a whilst)

Sup, Ishmael :p

OKay but just to let you know Ishmael from Wheel of Time was wayy cooler than Ishmael from Moby Dick. I loved Wheel of Time. But Robert Jordan has clearly gone senile. He ruined a perfectly good series to make more money. Greed. He dragged it down after book 3.

wow and here i was thinking ishmael as in son of abraham and since that isn’t what you were talking about that would explain why your entry made absolutely no [as opposed to a little] sense to me.
