No more minus, just the T.

The first class is titled “Introduction to Islamic Research Methodology”. I designed and developed it. Insha-allah, today we implement it. I don’t want any of the credit for it, I just do the work. It’s the professor who has the tough job.

I’m currently signed up for the other course, “Endowments, Awqaf and Philanthrophy in Islam”, a wonderous topic and aspect of our islamic heritage that I rarely hear discussed. This course promises me the kind of thinking that I look forward to. The former course, otherwise.

My supervisor however is nice enough to sign me up for both courses, and not even have me mentioned as Staff in the internal memo. I’m designated as the “Instructional Designer”, loud and clear. Might as well put a large bulls eye on me, for all to know who was responsible for this mess.

Dear Allah, please make everything ok today.
Thanks.
Much love,
Waleed, Instructional Designer.

For one of the few rare times in my life, I may actually skip lunch today. =)

I had this morning, bagel (with everything) and veggie cream cheese and a large cuppa joe. I’m such an american.

But i’m already wondering if I can possibly squeeze in lunch at the new kabob house in town. Or maybe that iranian place across the street. Then there is the afghani place a block away. But what about the paki resturant in the next town? I surely cannot do injustice to the gyro pizza place behind my office. And may I also recommend a second course whilst we’re at it .
    I’m such a muslim.

More like, you sound like such an obsessive eater, is what. Just kidding. My hometown doesn’t have such variety in terms of “Muslim food.” This is why I’m in love with Berkeley – see, now that sounds like your town. Interestingly enough, I have to go write a 5-page paper on research methodology before I can hit up Berkeley on Friday. Grand grand grand.

Insha’Allah, all will go well with the courses. =)
So, as Instructional Designer, do your design the curriculum itself, or how does it work exactly? The professor doesn’t have a say in putting together the curriculum for the course he’s teaching?

Yasmine…we are also offering the Research course online. It’s 10 hour, broken up into 3 sessions over 3 weeks. Nice, and simple.

    Email me if you’re interested.

Hope it went well yesterday, Mr. Instructional Designer =)

P.S. — My philosophy on food — there is always time for lunch.
    Especially celebratory lunches.
