Projects

October 21st, 2003 by

As we think about our lives…aren’t they one project after another, do we not have to manage projects daily, weekly, hourly. We have a project to get dressed…we have projects to fix our car or wash our car…projects to arrange a party…meet with friends, these projects can weigh us down or pick us up…they can slow us down or speed us along.

We are in control…the projects are not in control…we can overcome these projects, meet the deadlines and move on…accomplished, satisfied…triumphiant.

Without completing projects…there is not feeling of closure….we must work to complete projects on time and within budget to reach a higher state.

Thank-you Dr.Karl, I have been thinking about the same thing since Waleed mentioned his project…

Didn’t we just talk about fooling ourselves a couple of posts back? ;)

Then Doc, one after another, unstoppable they come. Therefore, a break is never possible, a vacation cannot really be and being ill doesn’t pause a thing.

But you’re right about the feeling of closure.

Why do I feel like I’m being brainwashed? Hmm. *grabs projects and stuffs them under carpet*

Hmm, projects? Well lets think about that classic movie “Office Space.” More specifically the line that goes something like this “everyday of my life is the worse day of my life” and so if we do “projects” all the time then is life not just a career? Is there division between the two other than a paycheck?

Closure is good to a project. Emotional baggage from not having closure is just that, baggage. So what happens when we take a day like Peter Gibbins and just don’t do a thing? Is that a project? Is being spontaneous a project? What happens if we choose to leave a project open?

How would the hippies fit into this picture of projects? The so called “free spirited/souls?”
