for all the strong ones out there

titled ‘advice from the defeated’
if a person is acting as though they’ve been defeated, try to be a team player and ask them how they’re doing instead of making them feel like an even bigger loser. chances are, they’ve actually been defeated a few times recently and could probably use a little pep talk before heading back into the game.
-maybe I am

The secrets of project management are many but simple.
The opportunities are few, but complex.
They always are.

    How’re you doin, Waleed?
    You need a pep talk?
Okay, maybe Chai and I actually need to come up with some cheers after all.

    Where’s my partner in crime?

  2. chai Says:

yasmine, what’s up sweets? start the cheer and i’ll oblige.

  3. Faiza Says:

But I already came up with one!

  4. chai Says:

true. let’s give faiza a hand for a job well done!

  5. Waleed Says:

    Jazakala khair. =)

No, I don’t need a pep talk I think, I just need common sense. My local grocer is all out of it and I really don’t want to buy any off of eBay.

    Alas.

i learned after posting this that often times the winners don’t realize they’re winning until it’s too late.

Chai, this whole post was about being team players. You are not being a team player, woman. Why must I go first? Okay, fine, here’s my lameass attempt at a cheer for Waleed (or maybe it’s just a lameass poem that rhymes oh so badly – but you can ignore that part):

I think we’d all agree that Waleed’s a real cool dude
Mainly cuz he thinks late-night chocolate bars constitute real food
And he writes all this deep stuff the rest of us just can’t articulate sometimes
Without, yes, having to resort to atrociously horrendous rhymes
Too bad he spends so much time playing literati
Cuz otherwise maybe he’d get his work done early
Don’t you worry, Waleed, this too shall pass and all
Meanwhile don’t you procrastinate or slack off or stall
And if you ever need some motivation or a kick
Dontchu be forgetting, french fries just might do the trick.

Yeahh, there ya go. Please take into consideration the fact that I’ve been up all night, and just came up with this as a 2-minute slacker-ish respite from writing the rest of my paper. (sshh, don’t tell Dr. Karl.)

Now get back to work, nerd-o.
    Chop chop.

Your turn, Chai. This better be good.

  8. Waleed Says:

Wao…I think I’m going to frame that =)

    Jaza Kala Khair Yasmine.

  9. yasmine Says:

    no problem, yo. =)
(try really hard to resist framing it though, or i might have to hurt you.)

  10. chai Says:

    ok, here goes:

    waleed waleed he’s a muslim
if he can’t do it chances are slim

creativity is not my forte tonight
