Daytime thief

Dr Karl won’t let me have his pen.
He’s such a hard professor at times, I swear.

It’s not as if I’m going to steal his new Accord car keys. True, I have made several attempts to smuggle them out of his office for a joy ride but I’ve never been successful and that’s what counts in real life.
Not how many times I’ve almost done it, rather how many times I have done it.

I walk by his office daily, hourly almost and peek inside to see if he’s around. If he’s not, I hastily glance through his office, looking for his car keys for a quick one. And it’s not a stealthy project either; Dr Karl is fully aware of all my attempts in this arena, especially since I tell him of them explicitly:-

Me: “I’m going to steal your car keys when you’re not looking you know. Just sneak in here, distract you, grab them and run off for a quick one”
Doc: “Oh right you are. That’s why I never leave my office without them now”
Me: “You just watch. Before I graduate Doc, muhahahahah!”

I don’t say muhahahahah. I just do my evil laugh.

It’s not my fault that I try this. He started it.
He wouldn’t let me have his new car. Just like his pen.
Not fair.

So are we going to hear a rebuttal from Dr. Karl? Seeing as how he’s your guest blogger and all, I believe we’re obligated by common courtesy to listen to his side of the story as well, before we can come to a consensus as to whose fault all this really is.

  2. Jaded Says:

What you want to do is use a decoy set(s) of keys you see. Ones that look identical to his. Even if you don’t manage to smuggle the real ones you’ll sure as diddle confuse him :)

  3. Jaded Says:

by his I mean Dr Karl’s lol, tsk how rude of me. “Who is *(s)he* the cat’s mother ;)

you are full aware that Dr. Karl actually reads the comments?

a private e-mail to Waleed might have actually resulted in a success attempt at the twin keys experiment…

    :p

  6. Jaded Says:

Lol Adnan, aye but now every time Dr Karl looks at his keys he’ll be wondering of Waleed has carried out my excellenet advice. Either way the plan will work :D

  7. Dr Karl Says:

First of all….I prefer car discussions to crying mothers…having two kids myself I find it hard to fathom that anyone would continue to kill kids…and relish in the tears of others but I digress….

My car, my car…while Waleed is determined to drive my car, I am determined to thwart his efforts.

I have actually made duplicate keys that I leave around the office, in additon, Waleed has ridden in the car several times…that should be enough.

Ones car is not to be driven by just anyone…so I have been careful to keep the keys to myself and to hide the car in the parking lot so as not to make it easy to find if the keys were ever missing.

Be warned Waleed, several students have tried and failed to drive my car……

what’s up doc. i totally agree with you on that…one’s car is not to be driven by just anyone. back in the day when i had a car aka baby girl she never let me down and so to reciprocate i couldn’t just let any average joe off the street drive her. it’s an unspoken oath between you and the car. i can’t believe waleed has the audacity to violate that!

  9. Abez Says:

What are you driving Dr. Karl, a ferrari or something? :::readies pencil and notepad:::

    And the color?

    :p

  10. Jaded Says:

Hiden in the car park eh…… hmm…….. a tracking device would be most useful :D

  11. Waleed Says:

First of all, this is not something I’m doing under the covers. Dr Karl is aware at all times of my sincere efforts to borrow his car keys.
So i think it’s totally kosher.

And yes, you’re right Chai. You don’t let others drive your baby. But Dr Karl just teases me with his cool car and all…and when he does, I want to borrow his car keys so I can laugh along too!

    =)

In the end, it’s all done in good fun ofcourse.

As for what car he drives, it’s a 2003 Honda Accord with the works Abez. =)
