Alhamdulilah, I did it. One hour - 4 miles around the football field.

I guess the best part of it was when she leaned over a little and said "At the beginning of the year when you started your Master's, I had my doubts Waleed...but you showed commitment and did so well. I'm so proud of you."

aww masha'Allah. Nice lady.
But, dude, the 4 miles of power-walking were around the football field? And here I thought perhaps the scenery would be worth all that "physical pain and torture." =)

Now, running is torture, but walking is fun. Obviously nice scenery is great but even without it, walking is ok. BTW, why was this power walking? 4 miles per hour seems just the regular somewhat fast walk to me.

At least you can walk outside. Here in the south, it's too hot for that.

Scenery wise, this was actually a beautiful day. Our football field is located at the top of a hill, and so the view is gorgeous. There are mountains nearby, the river that runs winding and plenty of forest growth. Keep in mind that I'm in Pennsylvania, a state abundant with green lush, unlike Ohio or Indiana.

And I don't know why it's called power walking. We're not just strolling around though at a relaxed pace Zack, instead we keep up a fast pace for the entire 4 miles (16 laps around the field on the track). I stroll the 2 miles walk to my campus daily, trust me, the difference is quite clear. =)

I grew up under the blazing staring sun. Walking no fun then when you get drenched for just poking your head out of the house.

where in the south you talking about Zack?

Waleed: That's good scenery. What part of Penn you in? I like Eastern, especially northeastern Pennsylvania. Western part of the state is too much like the midwest. But then I am partial to mountains.

I didn't say it was strolling. It is definitely a smewhat fast pace, though "power walking" connotes something more.

I am in Atlanta, or HOTlanta. But it is nice outside today. I am very surprised.

Lol, you're such a goof. Running is fine. I used to always be running when I was a kid. Too impatient. Still am. I'm asthmatic now though, so that's been canned.

And in order to get a new vibe, notably the "don't hurt me please" and "I really like chicken, got any?" vibe, you've got to start wearing a pocket protector, swap the khakis for the stone-washed tapered leg jeans of the 1980s, buy and wear some huge white hi-top moon sneakers and dust yourself with bread crumbs daily. It's a sure fire thing. Try it eh? Lemme know how it works.

Ladies and gentleman, as is obvious to all, Owl has just recently been subjugated to a marathon of 'Revenge of the Nerds, I, II & III'.
