the picnic in the park

July 27th, 2003 by

My host family’s church is having a picnic in the park tommorow morning. The only thing is, the park is first come first serve. Last night, mom discovered, much to her dismay, table clothes on the tables. That means someone else is trying to “reserve” their spot.

To fight back, one of the church ladies has decided to sit out and make sure that the church was there first. She’s over 70 years old. And since 2AM this morning, she’s been sitting out in the park, in my backyard. Just sitting there, waiting. Till 9AM.

I’m not making fun of her, rather I admire her strength and patience to go through with this. But I the only one to find that a little outside my realm of norm atleast?

See, the thing is, I could, and probably would end up doing something like that for one cause or another.

    Yep.
Well, my backyard isn’t the park but my backyard is about 3 feet from it.
