oh how we sang

July 29th, 2003 by

My kids for the lego robotics camp were great. We probably had the worst creative robot made simply because though the team laughed a lot, in terms of group work, we did decently. But that’s ok. Ours was the funniest presentation because we had tons of photos. Like me giving the highschool lego expert kid a headlock. Or the photo of me in his lap and both of us laughing our asses off.
I don’t care. I’m quite comfortable with who I am. Or who I am not.

We listened to many different bands and albums; the kids enjoyed a taste as diverse as we adults did. At one point, we realized that not only could we listen to songs, we could also sing them as we built. Oddly enough we sang that one song from the Bring It On soundtrack and the Driedel song, since two people in the room were jewish. We also built lego driedels and spun them around incessantly.
Needless to say, the song got on their nerves pretty fast.

Alas.

Oh Mickey you’re so fine, you’re so fine you blow my mind,
hey Mickey, hey Mickey

Dude, now I have “Hey, Mickey” stuck in my head again. It’s one of the most difficult to get rid of too. Thanks a lot, yo.

lol the “Driedel Song” was one of my favorites back in elementary school. That, along with all the Christmas songs too. Go figure. My parents thought that was hilarious.

You’re a lego camp counsellor? Whoa. Legos are awesome. They were my favorite toy growing up and I’ve still got all of them from when I was a kid.

We are? Oy Yazzo my birfday is comin up and I’ve been trying to prepare myself for the shock of being ‘an adult’ and now you’ve gone and thrown a wrench in my mental cushion machine. Sigh…. why do we have to note down and carry about our ages? Can’t I just say I feel 12 and leave it at that?
