July 27th, 2003 byI mainly listen to hindi music. Particularly oldies and sad songs. That I assume would alienate the majority of visitors. But I continue nonetheless.
Here’s a list of some of my favourite Old Hindi Songs.
This is by no means a complete list.
Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas – Kishore Kumar
Mana Janab Ne Pukara Nahi – Kishore Kumar
Mere Mehboob Qayamet Hogi – Kishore Kumar
Khabi Khabi – Kishore Kumar
Tere Bina Zindagi Se – Kishore Kumar and Lata
Likhe Jo Khat Tujhe – Rafi and Lata
Khabi Khabi – Mukesh and Lata
Phool Tumhe Bheja He Khat Me – Mukesh and Lata
Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega – Mukesh and Lata
Jeevan Se Bhari – Mukesh
Dost Dost Na Raha – Mukesh
Main Pal Do Pal Ka Shair Hoon – Mukesh
Kisi Ki Muskurahaton Pe – Mukesh
Mera Jeevan Kora Kagaz – Mukesh
Toote Hue Khwabon Ne – Rafi
Aaj Purani Raahon Se – Rafi
Tareef Karoom Kya Uski – Rafi
Ehsaan Tera Hoga Mujh Par – Rafi
Warning : I enjoy these songs, I do not guarantee the same for you. :p

-Dil Chahta Hai
-Pardes
-DDLJ
-Bobby
-Teesri Manzil
albumwise. There are a lot of great song individually but these ones do a great job on a whole.

heh, it’s not like I don’t listen to new songs.
I loved the sound track of Dil Se, E Ajnabi with it’s background beats, Chayyia Chayyia filmed on the train. etc.
Everyone loves DDLJ, Pardes was good also.
Dil Chata Hai has a good blend of music.

adnan, i think you and my dad would get along. he’s all into mukesh and rafi. whenever we went on family road trips, growing up, those were among the songs blasting out of the car’s stereo. good memories.
and “dost dost na raha”…that was on the soundtrack to…argh, what was that movie called? “Sangam,” right? i probably watched it when i was ten or so. there’s the scene where the guy’s playing the piano and singing this song, and i remember wanting to cry, because it was so sad.
i’m not really into hindi music, but wow, memories…

Oh, I know that song, Yazzie!
Dost dost na raha, pyaar pyaar na raha
Zindagi humein teraaaa… aitebaar na raha, aitebaar na raha
Something something something something something,
Woh mere dost tum hi thay, tum hi tau thay
Jau zindagi ki raah me banay thay mere humsafar
Woh mere dost tum hi thay, tum hi tau thay
And I know a Kishore Kumar one too!
Tere bina zindagi se koi
shikwaaaaaaa
tau nahi, shikwa nahi, shikwa nahi, shikwa nahi
Tere bina zindagi bhi lekinnnnnnn
zindagiiiii
tau nahi, zindagi nahi, zindagi nahi, zindagi nahi

“humein aur jeenay ki” (Kishore Kumar)
“Neelay Neelay Amber per” (Kishore Kumar)
“humein tumsay pyar kitna” (Kishore Kumar)
“khizan Ki Phool peh” (Kishore Kumar)
“Kya Hua tera wada” (Rafi)
“humthay jinkay saharay” (Lata)

“Neelay Neelay Amber per” (Kishore Kumar)
That’s another great one Mona, most definitely.
And here’s another unmentioned:
Zindagi Ka Safar (artisit uknown to me).
And I just want to drag up the soundtrack of Teesri Manzil, i personally loved each song except for one average song but everything else was just so well done. =)

how about these
kabhi kabhi ( lata and mukesh )
baho mei chalay ( lata )
tera mera pyaar amar ( lata ) *
lag ja gale se ( lata ) *
tumhi meri manzil ( lata )
chura liya hei ( asha bhosle )
in ankhon ki ( asha )
dil cheez hei kya ( asha )
ajeeb dastan hei yeh ( lata )
ruk ja raat ( lata )
na koi umang hei ( lata )
ghairon pe karam ( lata )
jane kyo log ( lata )
akhiyon ko rehne de ( lata )
huay hum jinke liyay barbad ( rafi )
yeh shaam mastani ( kishore kumar )
ab to hei tumse ( lata )
jane kaha gaye woh ( rafi )
gham uthane ke liyay ( rafi )
ap ki nazro ne ( lata )
now if you mix these up with FLOYD , slayer , sepultura and ozzy with the high notes provided with pavarotti and brightman and themes from beethoven and bach , damn you would come up with one hell of a show , LOL
the * ones are especially recommended for adnan who seems to be the sad one :p
have fun
